Cargo Ship clips bridge in Port Colborne, Canada

The 152 meter long, 8,388 tonne cargo vessel Lena J allided with a bridge in the Welland Canal at Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada.

The Lena J was en route to Burns Harbor, Indiana from Montreal when it struck Bridge 19.The vessel and bridge sustained damage. Traffic on the bridge was halted until it could be inspected.

The Lena J was able to proceed to Colborne where it later berthed and inspected for damaged.

No reports of injuries and no pollution was released.
