NIGERIA CUSTOMS BOARD RESTRUCTURES MANAGEMENT


The Nigeria Customs Service Board has approved the restructuring of the Service Management. The restructuring is one of the highlights of the Board Meeting presided over by the Coordinating Minister  of the Economy and the Honorable minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

2. Under the new arrangement, the Management has been re-constituted to reflect the Federal Character Principle of representation. Accordingly, the new Management comprises Six (6) Deputy Comptroller- Generals with one appointed from each of the Six geo-political zones of the country.


3. Those appointed to the rank of Deputy Comptroller- General include:
•    ACG Ibrahim Mera from Kebbi State ( North West)
•    ACG Gabriel Aliu from Kogi State (North Central)
•    ACG Tahir Musa mni, from Yobe State( North East)
•    ACG Chukwuma Nwosu  from Enugu State( South East)
•    ACG Ade Adewuyi from Oyo State ( South West)
The five newly- Promoted Officers will join John Atte from Bayelsa (South South) a serving Deputy Comptroller-General who is already on the Management Board.
4. Apart from the Deputy Comptroller-General, Eleven (11) Comptrollers were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers- General.
The new Assistant Comptroller-General are:
•    Dan Ugo                           -Benue state
•    Patience Iferi (Mrs.)       -Cross River State
•    Austin Warikoru          -Bayelsa State
•    Robert Alu-           -Nassarawa State
•    Ade Dosunmu-           -Lagos State and
•    Paul Ukaigwe-              -Imo State
The rest are:
•    Ahmed Mohammed mni  - Jigawa State
•    Adesina Odunmbaku      - Lagos State
•    Bello Liman           - Sokoto State
•    Monday Abueh mni       - Rivers State
•    Ifeoma Okoli ( Mrs.)       - Anambra State

5. The newly Promoted Assistant Comptrollers-General will complement the existing Six Officers already on the rank. They are Idris Suleiman (Katsina), Madu Mohammed mni (Yobe), Iya Umar (Adamawa) Bridget Okafor (Mrs.) (Anambra), Victor Gbemudu (Delta) and Grace Adeyemo (Ms.) (Ondo).

6. The Board also ratified the voluntary disengagement of three Deputy Comptrollers-General from the Service. Those who stepped down are Garba Makarfi, Dr Daniel Jatau and Yinusa Saka.
