EFCC swoops on NIMASA: Anti-graft agency drills Akpobolokemi two others today

FORMER Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA)  Mr. Patrick Akpobolokemi and two of  his subordinates are expected to appear before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) to answer questions bordering on some petition against them.
Expected to appear along with the former DG are Director of  Shipping development of the agency, Mr. Enusour Waredi and the Deputy Director in charge of Procurement Mr Obom Oonye.
Spokes person for the EFCC, Mr  Wilson Uwujaren told our correspondent yesterday that the invitation to Akpobolokemi and others is true.
Although Uwujaren did not give details, but hinted that the invitation may be extended to others.
Today’s appearance  may be unconnected to series of petition against the DG.
Sources close to the agency told our correspondent that Akpobolokemi’s invitation to EFCC may not be unconnected with alleged mismanagement of the agency during his tenure.
Although, NIMASA officials refused to comment on the development, some of them who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity said that Akpobolokemi was alleged to be partisan in the appointment and promotion of the agency’s staff.
Patrick Akpobolokemi is the third Chief Executive of the agency that is being invited to the commission based on petitions written by aggrieved parties.http://shippingposition.com.ng/article/efcc-swoops-nimasa
