NIMAREX 2015 Organisers Postpone Event To June 6th

The Nigeria Maritime Expo'(NIMAREX) 2015 has again postponed the kick-off date for the 2015 edition of the annual event.
This is the second postponement by the NIMAREX 2015 organising committee, which  attributed its action  the inconclusive elections in some part of the country.
The new date for the maritime exhibition is now June 6th to 8th 2015.
The Secretary Planning Committee of the flagship maritime industry international exhibition and conference;  Barrister Osuala Nwagbara said that at the last meeting held by the committee, it was  decided that a shift in  the date waw preferable so as to have a better organised event.
Even though it was scheduled to hold between April 26th to 28th, 2015, Nwagbara said that the shift was  due to re-runs of the elections in some states. He added that NIMAREX cannot be dissociated from politics and that stakeholders in the maritime sector,  government and the  incoming administration are all  interested in the outcome of the election.
He also said that the NIMAREX 2015 has the financial strength  to hold in June, 2015. Even as he  noted  that the new date was sacrosanct.
Nwagbara added that "we decided that it will be better that after all elections issues have been settled that we hold NIMAREX, because there is need for the outgoing government and the incoming government playing a role to ensure a better 2015 NIMAREX"
"NIMAREX event date is postponed to 6th till 8th, 2015 and the venue remains Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria island and we expect that it will be a fuller house because we want government officials who are currently playing one role or the other to be in attendance and those coming into the maritime industry to also be in attendance", he stated.
According to him, local and international stakeholders have keyed into the event, thus giving the maritime exhibition the financial muscle to host the event on new date.
He pointed out that foreign organisations are keenly interest to exhibit their products at the event stressing further that "whether we like it or not , the government of the day has shown key interest in the maritime industry".http://shippingposition.com.ng/article/nimarex-2015-organisers-postpone-event-june-6th
