On Assumption Of Office, New MD NPA Begs Management For Support

The newly-appointed Managing Director of the  Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA); Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero has appealed to the management team of the agency to  assist in the task ahead of him.

The Managing Director made the plea yesterday, during an official handing over ceremony I at the NPA corporate head office in Lagos.

According to him, support from management will help the agency, the economy and  the nation as a whole. He also pledged total commitment to the development of the NPA.

He further assured that as the new chief executive officer of the NPA, he would also cooperate with workers, stressing that with a formidable team in place, all the challenges faced by the maritime agency will be addressed with ease.

"Without your support for the NPA to move forward will not be too good for the economy and the nation and that’s why  I hope we all will work together because I pledge my full support and cooperation"

"I am looking forward to us putting efforts together in making the authority better and the only way to achieve that is through the confidence we have among ourselves, "he appealed.

However, Ado Bayero described the outgoing managing director; Mallam Habib Abdullahi as a brother and friend and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Earlier in his remarks, the outgoing managing director of the NPA had called for total support and assistance from management staff of the agency for the new helms man.

He said with management support, some of the challenges faced by the NPA would be solved even as he acknowledged that challenges are bound to come up.

Abdullahi called on his successor to ensure that the unions are well taken care of, adding that with their support, some of the challenges are half way solved.

For you to succeed as MD NPA, you will need the support and cooperation of your colleagues” he advised.
